Jonathan Bein
Jonathan Bein is President and Chief Executive Officer of Bolder Heuristics, Inc. As President, he has overseen and sustained an average annual growth rate of 40% since 1987. He has provided consulting services to companies such as Sun Microsystems, IBM, and U S WEST, as well as several venture-funded start-ups. Prior to joining Bolder Heuristics, Bein was co-founder of a software start-up and also worked at Martin-Marietta (now Lockheed-Martin) on space station expert systems. He received his B.A. degree from Indiana University in 1983 and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 1992.
E. T. "Ted" Smith
Edward T. "Ted" Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has over 24 years of software industry experience. Prior to his current responsibility Mr. Smith held the position of Vice President, Telecommunications and Business Development. Before coming to Bolder Heuristics, Mr. Smith was Vice President, Telecommunications Applications at Carnegie Group, Inc. Mr. Smith has also held software management and business development positions at U S WEST, Mountain Bell, and AT&T. Mr. Smith holds an M.S. degree from the University of Denver and a B.A. degree from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.
Deben Tobias
Deben has been our Chief Financial Officer since June 1993. He has been described as a round person in a linear job. He combines a long and strong background in finance, accounting, management, and entrepreneurship with many years of spiritual and meditation practice. A few of his diverse accomplishments include: founding and managing a consumer finance company with 32,000 customers; founding and managing an adult education center in London, England; studying eastern mysticism and meditation with an Indian guru for 15 years; and building a psychotherapy and shamanic healing practice. He is deeply committed to transforming consciousness in the business world. To this end, he serves as co-Chair of the Colorado Network of Businesses for Social Responsibility (BSR) and sits on the BSR's national board of directors.
Gilad Gordon
Gilad S. Gordon, M.D., M.B.A., is Vice President for Healthcare for Bolder Heuristics. Gilad received his undergraduate degree from Harvard in 1979 and his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1983. He undertook his residency at the University of Colorado and is Board certified in Internal Medicine. Following residency, Gilad completed a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship at the University of Washington and also received an M.B.A. as part of the program. Following fellowship, Gilad worked for three years as a Clinical Research Physician for Eli Lilly and Company in both the United States and in England. He then served as Director of Clinical Research for Synergen, a biotechnology company in Boulder. Immediately prior to joining Bolder Heuristics, Gilad was the Medical Director for MediQual, a medical software and database company. In addition to his current position, Gilad is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and serves as an Attending Physician at the Denver Veteran's Administration Hospital.
