Description of Moon Shadows
Situated on an acre that runs down to Mal Paso Creek (which separates
Carmel from Big Sur), this custom-built, two-bedroom, two-bath house
with one-bedroom, one-bath guest cottage overlooks the famous Highway One
and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. There are views of the ocean from the
living room, kitchen, master bedroom, and guest cottage.
The redwood deck overlooks Mal Paso canyon where wildlife can be spotted—wild
turkeys, snow owls, bobcats. An outdoor shower and hot tub are on the deck for
after-beach rinsing off and relaxing before entertaining on the deck with outdoor
barbecue and picnic table. Stone fireplace, wood-beamed cathedral ceilings with
ridge skylights in a secluded one-acre setting provide privacy and tranquility.
In addition, there is a private path at the back of the house that runs along the
creek to the beach. This beach was the site for the classic 1950's Walt Disney
movie, "Escape to Witch Mountain". Additional paths to two beaches can be reached
by crossing the street—one beach is accessible by key only (for our guests).
This locked-gate beach is a federal wild life refuge for sea otters and seals,
offering hours of enjoyment for everyone.
The house comes fully equipped with gourmet kitchen, cable TV, VCR, CD player,
gas BBQ, laundry, children's play structure. Linens and utilities are included.
